DR. Tina M. Ballon
DR. LESLIE KOENIG
Dr. Tina Ballon was born and raised in Louisiana, where she spent many summers on her grandparents’ farm caring for a wide variety of animals—an experience that helped shape her passion for veterinary medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans and went on to graduate from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Ballon completed a rigorous one-year internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists, where she advanced her skills across multiple disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, neurology, oncology, and emergency medicine. With over 30 years of experience in the veterinary field, she brings a deep level of knowledge and compassion to her work.
“I love helping animals feel better and stay healthy, and I look forward every day to caring for the pets in our community. I thank God for allowing me to serve our clients by answering questions and guiding them in the care of their furry babies.”
Dr. Ballon is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association. She is committed to continuing education and regularly attends leading veterinary conferences each year.
She lives in Johns Creek with her husband, John, and their two rescue pets, Walter Mitty and Marla Marie. In her free time, she enjoys camping and spending time outdoors with her three sons: John Jr., Paul, and Timothy.
Dr. Leslie Koenig knew from an early age that she wanted to become a veterinarian while growing up in the Huntsville, Alabama area. Her love for animals began with caring for small pets, and it was solidified when her family welcomed their first dog—setting her on a lifelong path in veterinary medicine.
She completed both her undergraduate studies and veterinary degree at Mississippi State University, graduating in 2011. Shortly after, she moved to the Atlanta area and joined Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital in June 2014. For over a decade, Dr. Koenig has been dedicated to serving the local community and caring for its pets.
Dr. Koenig lives in Johns Creek with her husband, Chris, their two children, Marie and Robert, and their beloved rescue animals, including three cats—Mickey, Smudge, and Zoe. She is always on the lookout for her next rescue dog.
In her free time, Dr. Koenig enjoys knitting, gardening, watching SEC football, and, of course, caring for the many animals she sees every day at the hospital.
